Mary was born and raised in Northern California where she worked for the private sector immediately following college. Just a few years later, she joined the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service and served her country as an U.S. Diplomat for several years in both Europe and Asia. During these assignments, Mary was able to visit many historical and present-day sites that reignited her passion for art and creating that she enjoyed as a child. Mary has a special interest in the beauty and warmth of the “old world” designs, art, architectural elements and techniques used in recreating these beautiful finishes.

A few years after Mary returned to the U.S. in 1995 to raise her family, she began taking classes from leading artists in the field of decorative painting and textures. Mary is a Painting and Decorating Contractor in both California and New Mexico. She has enjoyed working on projects in California and New Mexico with designers and developers in model homes, commercial buildings and high-end homes, as well as home owners themselves. She moved to New Mexico in 2006 and opened her new studio: How Great Thou Art Finishing Studio. Mary lives in Albuquerque with her husband and four children.

Lucille has been an artist with How Great Thou Art Finishing Studio for five years. She joined us after a 32 year career as a hairdresser and owned her own hair salon for 13 years. Lucille has created works of art on canvas and other surfaces from the age of 13. She is highly trained in all decorative finish areas and she is a great asset to this Stuido.
